The £4,295 Chevrolet Matiz… all you need is an old car!

If you’re currently driving around in a 10-year old car, then chances are you’re thinking of replacing it soon with a more modern model.

The natural choice would be to opt for a used car, but for just £4,295 you could be driving around in a brand new Chevrolet thanks to the recently announced government cash-for-scrap incentive.

Under the scheme, Chevrolet has vowed to apply discounts across its entire model range, and participating dealers are offering savings of at least £2,000 – and sometimes even more – on all new Chevrolet cars.

That makes the entry-level Matiz 0.8 S one of Britain’s most affordable cars at only £4,295 on the road, providing your existing vehicle meets the criteria of the scheme.

To qualify, it must have been registered before August 31, 1999, have a valid MoT certificate (or have expired by no more than 14 days) and been registered to the same person as the all-new car for at least 12 months prior to being traded in as scrap. The scheme is expected to run until March 2010.

With its 119g/km CO2 emissions, low insurance and 54.3mpg combined fuel economy, the Matiz is perfect for motorists looking to crush not just their old car, but also their motoring costs.

Those seeking larger cars can also benefit – the Aveo supermini is available from only £5,765 in conjunction with the cash-for-scrap scheme, while the family-sized Lacetti is on offer from only £7,495. These are just some of the savings across the Chevrolet range.

The offers are at participating Chevrolet dealers until further notice – to find your nearest outlet, visit chevrolet.co.uk
