For potential buyers who perhaps thought that enjoying life in a beautifully presented family home, surrounded by open countryside, would only be available with a four and five-bedroom detached property then look no further than Miller Homes’ Highfield Manor development in East Kilbride.

The award winning housebuilder has a collection of elegant three-bedroom homes, making sure that a range of buyers can also enjoy one of the best locations in the town.

Situated within the ‘Lindsayfield’ area of one of Scotland’s most thriving new towns, buyers at Highfield Manor have the advantage of neighbouring open green space, yet of also being only a short drive to East Kilbride’s vibrant centre as well as Calderglen Country Park, with its woodland walks and natural beauty.

Anne Marie Britton, sales director for Miller Homes in Scotland, says: “The advantage of including a choice of three-bedroom properties at Highfield Manor is that it allows buyers to move with us over the years. We find young couples thinking about raising a family purchase our three-bedroom homes. Then as their family grows, they will upsize to one of our four or five-bedroom properties within the same development. This is a rising trend at a number of our developments where we offer a variety of properties, as buyers love a particular location and the Miller Home’s product, so it is a natural progression for them to move-up with us over the years.”

With its welcoming long hallway, spacious family/dining area within the well-planned kitchen, separate lounge and ample storage, the three-bedroom Cather has been a resounding success for Miller at Highfield Manor. Also, with a price tag of just £159,000, buyers are securing a brand new home that is within the same price bracket as a many three-bedroom resale properties in the town.

The semi-detached, three-bedroom Tamar is perfect for those purchasers wanting a home that has the flexibility to provide a large, sociable space – as the dining room adjoins the lounge, creating two rooms that seamlessly flow together. Also, as the dining room has French doors out to the rear garden, the outside becomes a natural extension of the property, particularly in the summer months. Another notable feature of the Tamar is it comes with an integral garage, ensuring that all the clutter of busy family life is effortlessly stored. Released from only £169,000, the Tamar continues to be in demand from discerning buyers who have been quick to recognise the size and style of home they can achieve for the price.

Three definitely is the ‘magic number’ at Highfield Manor, as further adding to the appeal of this style of home is that Miller is providing it hugely successful shared equity initiative – Miway, on a selection of three-bedroom plots.

Under MiWay* buyers simply arrange their own finance for 80% of the purchase price and Miller Homes provides a loan to make up the other 20%. The customer still owns 100% of the property from day one and has nothing to repay for up to 10 years. After 10 years, or when they sell or transfer their home, the buyer simply pays back the 20% of their home’s market value at that time. 0% interest is payable for the first five years and 3% interest is payable for the next five years. This means that with MiWay, the Cather is available from a remarkable £127,200 and the Tamar from an incredible £135,200.

The month of May also marks the national launch of Miller Homes’ MiSwap* scheme– designed to help buyers with houses to sell. The initiative was specifically created to make buying quicker and easier – with Miller Homes purchasing a customer’s existing house at a fair and independently assessed price.

Furthermore, 2010 is the company’s 75th Anniversay and for visitors to Highfield Manor, this means they will have the chance enter Miller Homes’ birthday bonanza’, which runs until 22nd May. There are eight holidays up for grabs across the UK in this spring competition, with Scotland West guaranteed one of the holidays, meaning someone could be swapping East Kilbride for Spain at some point this summer.

Better still, the holiday winner will also have the chance to walk away with £7,500 in the second phase of the ‘birthday bonanza’* competition, which goes live in June, giving all visitors to millerhomes.co.uk the opportunity to vote for their preferred winner, and the chance to scoop in iPod Shuffle – just by taking part.

Highfield Manor sits on the edge of East Kilbride, enjoying a semi-rural setting that presents a rare opportunity to enjoy the convenience of a thriving modern town with the added charm of a highly attractive location. The development is also close to a number of primary and secondary schools.

Home to one of Scotland’s biggest undercover shopping and leisure centres, East Kilbride Shopping is also perfectly placed for providing an easy commute to Glasgow, Hamilton and Edinburgh, with access to excellent motorway links as well as bus and train services.
