The Co-operative Insurance flexible breakdown cover

17th May 2010 Print

The Co-operative Insurance has increased its presence in the motor breakdown market with the launch of a new standalone flexible breakdown product.

With roads becoming increasingly busier, and with the school summer holidays looming, The Co-operative Insurance has developed the new Breakdown Cover in association with AXA Assistance just in time for what is a historically busy breakdown period.

The Co-operative Insurance Breakdown Cover offers four levels of protection:

Roadside
Recovery
Recovery and Homestart
European

Customers can choose to cover either the vehicle, themselves, joint policyholders or their family at market leading prices.

The new Co-operative Insurance Breakdown Cover can be taken out over shorter periods - one to 31 days - perfect for one off foreign getaways.

Additional key features include:

No excesses on claims
An average response time of 38 minutes from the initial callout
£10 apology payment if waiting time exceeds one hour
80 per cent of vehicles repaired at the roadside

David Neave, Business Leader at The Co-operative Insurance, said: "With what is a historically busy motoring period looming on the horizon, and many breakdown companies stretched, the new Co-operative Insurance Breakdown Cover is sure to help many drivers on the roadside with affordable, swift assistance.

"The new Co-operative Insurance Breakdown Cover offers drivers a greater level of flexibility than has been previously offered, allowing customers to develop a tailor made breakdown product to best suit their needs."
