Vauxhall Astra ‘Best New Car’ at 2010 Fleet World Awards

The 2010 Fleet World Awards held on 18 May at the Royal Automobile Club in London saw Vauxhall’s all new Astra win the highly coveted ‘Best New Car’ Award.

Engine efficiency of the all new Astra, set to be the best-selling British-built car in the UK, has improved by over 13 per cent on the outgoing range, an important consideration for fleet managers. With all models featuring ESP, six airbags, air conditioning, electric windows, and CD/radio with MP3 format and aux-in, all new Astra also offers businesses impressive specification as standard.

Chairman of Judges Steve Moody said: ‘In a difficult year for the brand, Vauxhall still showed that it knows how to launch products that the fleet market wants to buy. Build quality in the new Astra is very impressive; it’s spacious, well-specified for business customers and good to drive too. It’s a British-built car that is really starting to find favour quickly in the fleet market.’

The Fleet World Honours are presented annually to those motor manufacturers, service companies and individuals who have, in the opinion of the judges, achieved the highest possible level of excellence in their sector.  In addition to Fleet World's editorial team, the judging panel consists of representatives from the leasing industry, price guides and fleet management professionals.

Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles was also successful at the Van Fleet Honours, with Movano claiming the ‘Best New Van’ award.
