HSBC’s Brazil Equity Fund launches on Hansard platforms

HSBC's Brazil Equity Fund is to be made available to new and existing clients of Hansard International Limited and Hansard Europe Limited, via its unit-linked range of internal funds, from 21st May 2010.

Investors will be able to access the fund through Hansard's regular premium product Universal Retirement Programme and single premium product, Capital Builder.

This fund link will enable Hansard's clients to access HSBC Global Asset Management's Jose Cuervo, one of the most experienced and successful investors in Brazilian equities globally, within a wealth management solution from a provider with over 30 years experience.

In 2009, the US$2.4bn HSBC GIF Brazil Equity Fund returned 156.5%, in US dollar terms - placing it in the first quartile and ranking it fourth out of 22 funds, in the Offshore and International Funds, Equity Brazil sector. The fund's benchmark, MSCI Brazil achieved 131.9% for the 12-month period. Over the past 12 months, to the end of March, the fund has achieved a return of 139% against a benchmark return of 111.1%.
