Barratt has progressed further with its carbon agenda by installing solar panels on selected homes at the Meadowbrook development in the picturesque village of Four Marks.

Twenty per cent of the homes at Meadowbrook now feature the fitted solar panels, which harness solar power to provide energy for the homes. The panels can utilise up to 95 per cent of the energy they receive, to reduce costs and carbon emissions at Meadowbrook for up to 25 years.

Barratt sales director Mark Docherty said: “It’s important as a company to make a difference where we can. Homebuyers are increasingly conscious of leading a greener lifestyle so by offering solar panels on selected homes at Meadowbrook we can further satisfy customers’ needs.

Meadowbrook has a variety of four and five bedroom homes available ranging from £349,995 to £495,995 but will be releasing new homes shortly.

On offer for £495,995, the five bedroom Winchester provides luxury living and offers a double garage and additional parking spaces. The ground floor offers a large kitchen with lounge area and utility room, separate family lounge with French doors leading out to the garden. It also has a dining room and study which could be converted to a sixth bedroom if desired.

The first floor houses four bedrooms, three of which are doubles with two boasting an en-suite.

The village of Four Marks offers numerous amenities – including nurseries, a church, post office, pub, restaurant and several shops. The nearby picturesque town of Alton was once home to one of England’s best loved writers, Jane Austen and provides rail services to London Waterloo.
