Gocompare.com adds 82 new insurance brands
Gocompare.com, the price comparison website, has announced that it has added a further 82 insurance brands to its comparison panels in the past 12 months and, following the success of its Gio Compario advertising campaign, has dramatically increased quote volumes.
Among the brands to have joined Gocompare.com's car panel recently are MCE Insurance, Easyinsure and Its4women. Towergate and Debenhams have recently joined the home panel, and M&S is the latest addition to Gocompare.com's pet insurance comparison service.
The significant growth in Gocompare.com's insurance panels comes at a time when the comparison site is generating record quote volumes. So far this year Gocompare.com has returned well over ten million quotes for insurance products alone.
In March 2009, Gocompare.com became the first insurance comparison site to compare over 100 car insurance brands. Since then the panel has grown to 120 car insurance brands catering for a broad range of risks including young and mature motorists and sports and classic car drivers - Gocompare.com now covers more of the market than any of its closest competitors*.
Hayley Parsons, chief executive of Gocompare.com said: "We always wanted to build a car insurance panel that was big enough to provide not only competitive quotes, but also cater for a varied range of risks. Specialist providers such as Adrian Flux, Sheilas' Wheels and CoverBox are among the many insurance companies available who help our customers find the right product at the right price, even if they aren't an ‘average' driver.
"We've also worked hard to add many more brands across all our insurance comparison services, so when people use Gocompare.com they do so safe in the knowledge that we will scour the market to help them find the best deals."
The number of home insurance providers available on Gocompare.com has grown by 38% since this time last year and now includes policies that will cater for properties that have previously been affected by flooding. Besides comparing more insurers, Gocompare.com also simplified the home insurance quote process last year with the introduction of a RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) rebuild cost calculator, removing any guesswork to ensure that policies reflect what cover the customer actually needs.
Gocompare.com's pet insurance comparison service, which was introduced in October 2009, is the only service that truly compares pet insurance policies, rather than listing a series of links to ‘preferred partners'. There are currently thirteen pet insurance brands on Gocompare.com's panel, allowing cat and dog owners to compare over 20 policies.
John Miles, head of home and pet insurance at Gocompare.com, said: "Home insurance can be daunting to many people, and as such switching is far less common than it is for car insurance. We have worked hard to develop our home insurance panel and simplify the quote process so that shopping around is as easy as possible.
"We are also very proud of our pet insurance comparison, which has been popular since its launch at the end of last year. Many cat and dog owners will only have bought pet insurance after being recommended to do so by their vet - but we wanted to enable people to search for policies that provide the level of cover they need, at a price they want to pay. We have seen a lot of interest from pet insurance providers in our comparison service, so we expect our panel to grow even more in the near future."
