Setting up home can be expensive, but a furniture donation from Redrow is helping tenants of West Devon Homes kit out their properties.

Furniture from the award winning homebuilder’s former show home at Tiddy Brook Meadows in Tavistock has been gifted to housing association West Devon Homes.

Formed in 1999, West Devon Homes has a stock of more than 1,500 homes, which are let to those most in need.

Shelley Martin, neighbourhood and communities assistant for West Devon Homes, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Redrow for donating the furniture to us. We used it as an incentive for our tenants to return important documentation to us. Those who responded were entered into a draw for the items.

“It means that we’ve got the information we require from our tenants and in return they’ve got items of furniture which, perhaps, they wouldn’t otherwise have been able to afford.”

Hannah Newnes, sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “Community work is always very important to Redrow, especially in the areas in which we are building.

“We’re nearing the end of our Tiddy Brook Meadows venture and have now sold the show home. We wanted to find a good home for show home furniture, which - because it’s only been used for ‘show’ - is virtually new.

“West Devon Homes are our neighbours in Tavistock and we were delighted to help them. We hope it will make a real difference to their tenants.”

A selection of three and four-bedroom Redrow homes are still available at Tiddy Brook Meadows, priced from £212,995, but would be home owners should hurry as the popular scheme is almost complete.

For more information, visit the sales office open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm.
