TT bike park launches with Suzuki

As the Isle of Man’s new ‘motorcycle only’ parking zone is launched at this year’s TT races, Suzuki owners get special treatment during its opening day (this Saturday) with parking exclusively for Suzuki riders.

Open from 10.00am – 11.30pm every day during race week and situated at the Loch Promenade in Douglas, the exclusive Suzuki day offers dedicated parking, with Suzuki GB goody bags supplied (on a first come, first served basis) as part of the brands 50th anniversary of International racing and the 25th birthday celebrations for the GSX-R range.

Positioned on the shore side of the promenade and monitored by stewards on-site, the area stretches for 150 metres from ‘Jaks Pub’ to the Loch Promenade, allowing for 300 bikes to be parked.

Suzuki GB marketing manager, George Cheeseman, commented, “Naturally we’re pleased to be part of this new facility and delighted that Suzuki owners will get exclusive use on its first day of operation. As we celebrate our 50th year of International racing and 25 years of GSX-R, we’ll be handing out a limited supply of special goody bags to the first riders that make use of the parking too.”

Commenting on the new facility, Geoff Corkish, MBE, MHK, political member for Isle of Man Tourism said, “We want to create a real bike spectacle on the promenade to complement the entertainment that we are putting on and we felt that the bike park would give people the chance to show off their machines and compare bikes with other TT fans.”

He continued: “The Suzuki dedicated day on Saturday 5th June will also be a fitting tribute to 50 years of the marque’s racing and 25 years of the iconic GSX-R and I’d encourage as many Suzuki owners as possible to take part in the celebrations.”
