First-time buyers are being given an opportunity to experience a new concept in urban village living within easy reach of Glasgow city centre – and it’s much more affordable than they may think.

Buyers can purchase an ultra-modern two or three-bedroom apartment at Riverside Point in a vibrant area of Braehead, near Renfrew, for an initial payment from just £103,125 – thanks to Redrow’s ‘easi:buy’ scheme.

They will be deferring 25% of the purchase price for 10 years in an initiative that’s designed to help first-time buyers who would otherwise be priced out of the market. They can pay the balance of £34,375 when they have more funds available in the future or when they’re ready to move on.

Mary McHutchison, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland), said: “Schemes like this can be crucial for first-time buyers because as they only need to finance 75% of the property’s full value, they should get a much better choice of good value mortgage deals without the need for a large cash deposit. They will still own 100% of their new home from day one.

“We can even help them to arrange their mortgage by accessing our network of financial advisers. Buyers won’t have to pay any rent on the deferred element and they’ll have up to 10 years, or until they resell the property, to pay back the outstanding amount.

“It’s an efficient and easy way to enjoy the luxury of owning one of our sought-after brand new apartments.”

Would-be home owners can also use ‘easi:buy’ to purchase a two-bedroom Canterbury home at Riverside Point scheme. In this instance they can defer 20% of the £154,995 purchase price, requiring an initial payment of only £123,996. For this they get a substantial property with two double bedrooms, a contemporary kitchen, downstairs cloaks and a pleasant lounge with patio doors to the garden.

Riverside Point features a mix of apartments and two, three and four-bedroom family houses with current prices up to £235,000 for a four-bedroom detached ‘Otter’. Part exchange is available on selected plots for those with an existing property to sell.

Riverside Point has been carefully designed with a real sense of community. Local amenities are superb including a nearby river taxi for commuting along the Clyde to Glasgow.

It is ideally located for those who want to have everything close to home. It is near to the M8, which offers excellent commuter routes to central belt towns and to Glasgow international airport.

The area also has fantastic local amenities - not least the Braehead shopping and leisure centre, which includes the Xscape ski and cinema complex. The River Clyde is just a short stroll away and families are catered for by several nurseries and primary schools in the area, while Renfrew High School is within walking distance.
