BCA Bridgwater raises over £3,000 for Air Ambulance
BCA Bridgwater, Somerset staged a special fund-raising sale on Thursday 27th May with a charity auction to raise funds for Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.
The football-themed event featured over 400 cars and commercial vehicles from Citroen, Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Alphabet, ranging from city cars to prestige models and even including a road legal replica Citroen C4 Rally Car.
The event raised a total of £3,120 for Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, with £1,180 donated by Citroen, Alfa Romeo and Fiat based on the vehicles they sold on the day, with £640 from BCA’s auction of football memorabilia, £1,100 from the BCA raffle and £200 donated by Assured Valeting who operate at BCA Bridgwater.
The sale event itself attracted over 200 buyers to Bridgwater plus 185 online buyers using BCA’s Live Online internet bidding service.
Bidding was strong throughout the event. Star of the Citroen sale section was the C4 Rally car, described as the final road legal rally replica that Citroen will build. It sold for £16,500 following some very competitive bidding. In total, Citroen sold nearly 130 vehicles for a turnover of just under £900,000
Alfa Romeo sold every vehicle on offer, the 100% success generating a turnover of £537,000. Fiat offered a range of cars and commercials, selling nearly 90% of the entry for over £400,000 - Doblo Cargo averaged 118% of CAP Clean, while Grande Punto sold for over 110% of CAP.
Alphabet featured a range of ex-lease vehicles, selling nearly 100 units for over £750,000 and achieving up to 127% of CAP Clean.
Customers were encouraged to wear their football team’s shirt on the day and there was a ‘£1 a shot’ penalty shoot out against BCA’s own Paul “the cat” Dunn, with all money going to the Air Ambulance. Even the local Somerset Police Crowd Control and Dog Handling team attended to show their support, and there was a free Ice Cream van on duty all day.
BCA’s Account Manager Paul Dunn commented “I’d like to thank Citroen, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Alphabet for supporting this event, and for all the efforts put in by the staff at BCA Bridgwater for making it such a success. We were delighted to raise a significant sum of money for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.”
