Property matchmaking at Foresthall Park

Taylor Wimpey Sales Executive Catherine Sullivan has proved quite the matchmaker at the leading housebuilder’s Foresthall Park development in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex – fixing up two of her relatives with their ideal homes in the space of just 24 hours.
Catherine contacted her brother, Peter Gallagher, after she began working at the development and spotted the perfect home for him and his family – prompting him to “fall in love” with the property and reserve it on the spot.
Meanwhile, she recommended the ideal property that was well within the price range of her first-time buyer daughter Emma, who moved quickly to clinch the home of her dreams on the same day!
“I suppose I’m a bit of a matchmaker, but fixing people up with their perfect homes is what I do, so there’s nothing unusual about it really,” says Catherine, who now works at another Taylor Wimpey development, Heath Meadows in Leighton Buzzard.
“I knew what Peter and Emma were looking for and I was in a great position to find them exactly what they wanted – and it’s worked out fantastically for both of them.”
For Peter and his wife Julie, the appeal of a new home at Foresthall Park proved irresistible. Although they were not actively seeking to move house at the time, they loved the four-bedroom home and its picturesque outlook so much, the decision was almost made for them.
Peter (48), who works as a facilities manager, says: “At the time we were living in the next village along and we passed the development on a daily basis – but although we were interested to find out more, we didn’t pursue it because we had no plans to move.
“Then Catherine gave us a call and asked us to stop by and have a look. She showed us one plot with a fantastic view across the nature reserve and we absolutely fell in love with it. We went back and signed the papers that very day.”
Peter and Julie’s “whirlwind romance” with their brand new home didn’t end there. They took advantage of Taylor Wimpey’s Part Exchange initiative – which offers purchasers with a home to sell the market value of their existing property off the price of their new purchase – and were settling into their new home with their eight-year-old son, Archie, less than six weeks after reserving it.
“I didn’t think it was possible for the wheels to move that quickly,” Peter says. “We’d had a few issues when we bought our previous place and it had taken quite a while, so for this move to go ahead so quickly was amazing and an absolute joy.
“Part Exchange was something I had never considered before but it really did take all the worry and hassle away. Now when I speak to friends who have recently moved house and listen to their tales of woe, I almost feel guilty about how easy it all was!”
Peter and his family moved into their new home at Foresthall Park in December, and Emma (30) and her partner Mark Brooks are looking forward to doing the same when their property is ready in the summer, with their 11-year-old daughter already accepted at the local school.
Benefiting from a delightful village location with superb commuter links and the attractions of central London just 40 miles away, Foresthall Park is the perfect setting for families and couples – whether they are stepping up the property ladder or investing in their first home.
Prices range from just £185,000 for a two-bedroom starter home through to £499,950 for a sumptuous five-bedroom, four-bathroom detached house, with Part Exchange available on selected three, four and five-bedroom properties.
