Housebuilder, Persimmon Homes West Midlands, has been announced as main sponsor of the Festival Market - part of the city’s famous Lichfield Festival.

Widely regarded as the West Midlands’ pre-eminent multi-arts festival, Lichfield Festival, now in its 29th year, attracts around 50,000 visitors every year who are able to enjoy 60 events over ten days in ten venues.

Persimmon Homes is the main sponsor of the Festival Market which, free to attend, takes place on Saturday 10th July and which since 1995, has been a popular feature of the event. Anita Williams, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “The Lichfield Festival is famous for celebrating local and international creativity and seeing the city brim with artistic flair. We are delighted to be main sponsors of the Festival Market and are hoping for good weather and a fantastic turn-out!”

Similarly, Lichfield Festival is delighted to be working with Persimmon Homes as festival Chair Nick Sedgwick added: “Our annual Market has always been a great opportunity for families in particular to dip into the Festival. This year, with Persimmon Homes as partners, we look forward to a creative explosion in the heart of the city. We have been overwhelmed with requests to take part from performers, stallholders and local arts organisations, proving what we’ve always known, that Lichfield really is a creative city.”

This year the Festival Market will be organised into different zones of activity including “See It”, “Make It”, “Ask It”, “Do It” and “Eat It”. Arts and crafts people will be demonstrating their creative skills selling handmade goods, there will be performances, creative activities for visitors to get involved with and information will be available on how visitors can get involved in arts activities. On the Persimmon stand, visitors will be able to enjoy a range of free activities and the housebuilder will also be raising much-needed funds for its charity partner, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

Persimmon Homes West Midlands is currently building in Lichfield, Telford, Cannock, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Bridgnorth, Darlaston, Tipton, Newport, Armitage and Stourbridge.
