House buying in Telford is a family affair

Persimmon Homes aims to build more than just properties, it prides itself on building communities where families can live and thrive, and this is just what it’s done in Telford, where Pam and Ray Parks have bought homes, following in the footsteps of their son and daughter.

The couple had always admired their children’s houses, with their son having purchased a Persimmon home in Wiltshire and their daughter doing the same in Telford, so when they decided it was time to downsize they knew exactly where to head to.

Pam comments: “Our son was the first to buy a Persimmon property a couple of years ago and we and our daughter always admired it. It was beautifully built and well laid out, so when my daughter moved to Telford, she decided a new build with Persimmon was the right choice for her too.

“She loves her home and can’t speak more highly of it, so when we wanted to downsize, it was an easy choice. We were living in Wolverhampton, but decided to move to Telford to be closer to our daughter. We visited the sales advisers at The Pastures, a nearby development to where my daughter lives, and were able to find a home that suits our needs. Plus, I knew I wanted a new build property. Because we’re close to retiring, I wanted a home that would be easy to maintain and needed no work doing.”

The couple bought the Bluebell, a three bedroom townhouse, spread across three floors. Pam explains what she likes about the home: “The layout is great, as if offers a lot of flexibility. We’ve converted one of the bedrooms into a study to suit our needs. Also, it has two lounges - one is more of a family room on the ground floor, and the other on the first floor more formal, so it’s a great home to have friends over.

“Plus, The Pastures really suits us. It’s a nice and select community, with people from all ages living here. Just around us there is a young family and a single lady and then us, a soon to be retired couple, so it’s great to have such a mix.”

Anita Williams, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “Members of the same family buying our homes is one of the biggest endorsements we can get. Pam and Ray’s son and daughter clearly recognised the quality of our homes and the couple was able to experience this first hand, which helped to make their decision. If house hunters want to do the same, all they have to do is pay a visit to our showhome at The Pastures, to find out just how their own family can flourish.”

Pam concludes: “We absolutely love our home and would recommend buying with Persimmon to any of our friends and even some more of our family!”

The Pastures features a stunning range of three four and five bedroom homes, ideal for couples, those looking to downsize, and families. Located within Persimmon’s prestigious Ironstone scheme, the development sits within easy access to Telford Town Centre, convenient for shopping and leisure activities and has great commuter links, with the M54 close by.

Prices currently start at £182,950 for a four bedroom home. For further information on the properties available at The Pastures, visit the marketing suite open Thursday to Monday, between 11am and 5pm.
