Renault launches Laguna Privilège Navigation
Renault has enhanced its Laguna Navigation range by introducing the new Privilège Navigation trim offering fleets an executive, luxury version of the popular trim level which will feature a comprehensive full colour large 6.5" screen satellite navigation system worth £1,100 as standard in the overall price which has risen by only £550 making the navigation system half-price. Privilège Navigation follows the success of the Expression Navigation and Dynamique Navigation launched in February 2006, which now account for 15% of the Laguna sales mix.
The addition of the new Privilège Navigation trim increases the appeal of Laguna even further, particularly for Fleets, offering a stylish, modern and practical vehicle with top quality interior features and unrivalled standard equipment.
The inclusion of ‘sat nav’ as standard is essential for Fleets where getting to an appointment on time is vital, and Renault has introduced the range in direct response to customer demand. As Laguna Navigation also includes live traffic information including information on the length of delay caused by the congestion as well as new Privilège offering a touch of luxury, it is an even more ideal choice for the fleet sector.
Duty of care is one of the leading concerns for fleet managers, and as the Colour Satellite Navigation system on Privilège Navigation is fully integrated and partially operated by fingertip remote controls mounted on the hi-fi stalk behind the steering wheel, meaning that attention is kept firmly on the road.
The Laguna Privilège Navigation is available in a choice of four engines, 2.0 VVT 135, 2.0 VVT 135 Auto, dCi 130 FAP (particle filter) and dCi 150. It is available in Hatch or Sport Tourer versions.
Prices start from £19,125 for the Hatch version rising to £21,200, and in Sport Tourer guise, prices start from £20,225 rising to £22,300.
Laguna Privilège Navigation sets the benchmark for its rivals with more standard equipment than the equivalent Ford Mondeo GHIA 2.0 TDCi, Peugeot 407 2.0 HDI Sport and Toyota Avensis 2.0 D-4D T4. Out of these models, Laguna Privilège Navigation is the only one to offer a colour satellite navigation system as standard, compared to Ford and Peugeot who charge £1,000 and £1,350 respectively as an option, and Toyota where only the standard non-map arrow guidance system is available.

Once again Laguna blasts its competition into oblivion by offering a comprehensive, top-of-the-range colour satellite navigation system as standard, whereas its closest rivals who only provide monochrome, turn-by-turn or arrow guidance sat nav systems.
Laguna Navigation provides customers with a safety-tested, optimally positioned, dash-mounted full colour screen (maps and arrows) Carminat Colour Satellite Navigation System with fingertip remote controls mounted on the hi-fi stalk behind the steering wheel.
The inclusion of a satellite navigation system has been specified as an essential requirement for fleet customers to eliminate the stress of trying to find a destination, and many are dependent on the system to get them to the client on time. Laguna Navigation ensures customers are offered a high quality package which will also assist healthy future residuals.
The Carminat Colour Navigation system automatically determines the vehicles position via GPS, includes a colour map with voice synthesiser, has points of interest locations (petrol stations, hospitals etc) and has unlimited destination search using:
road map (on the CD or stored in the system memory)
Live traffic information TMC – congestion alert (nature and estimated time for hold-up to clear) and alternative route suggested
Step-by-step route directions through the display screen and via voice messages
Can be partially operated through the hands-free radio control stalk
Not only this but Renault Laguna was the first-ever car to obtain the maximum five-star rating from Euro NCAP so customers are assured that they are travelling in comfort and safety.
Laguna Navigation is also available in Expression and Dynamique trims.
Laguna Privilège Navigation
Privilège Navigation includes all of the core features and standard equipment available on the Privilège trim it is based upon including climate control with separate driver/ passenger controls, Hands Free Renault card, 4 x 30W dash mounted multi six CD changer with MP3 CD reader and radio with RDS and eight speakers, Xenon double distance elliptical headlamps with wash, parking proximity sensor and part leather upholstery in carbon with carbon interior trim.
Additional standard equipment on the Privilège Navigation is the Carminat Colour Satellite Navigation System.
There are also a variety of options available including metallic paint, ESP, 17" alloys, rear lateral airbags, heated front seats, pre-telephone equipment and heated windscreen.
The Laguna Privilège Navigation is available to order from 1st September 2006 and offers a stylish, modern, practical vehicle with top-of-the-range standard Satellite Navigation equipment and sleek looks, at a sensible price especially for the fleet market.
Insurance groups are yet to be confirmed but are expected to be competitive.
