Jobbing scouts, brownies and guides are more than a few bob better off this week – after collecting £663.31 during a busy weekend of fundraising supported by Taylor Wimpey, the housebuilder behind The Grange development of new houses for sale in Hailsham.

The 2nd Hailsham Scouts were out in force at Hailsham Carnival’s Lark in the Park event on Saturday, helping out and collecting donations at the leading developer of property in Hailsham’s popular wildlife stall.

The event was followed by a charity car wash on Sunday at Taylor Wimpey’s The Grange development in the town. The 2nd Hailsham Scouts rolled up their sleeves to shine dozens of vehicles and collected a total of £227.50, with the Taylor Wimpey donating £5 for every car they cleaned.

On Saturday 12th June, the 1st Hellingly Brownies and Guides raised £435.81 towards the cost of their fundraising celebrations by packing customers’ shopping bags at Tesco in North Street. Taylor Wimpey boosted their funds with a £100 contribution.

Paula Carter, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “As a responsible housebuilder, we’re keen to show our support for the local community in any way we can – and we’re delighted to be able to help these determined youngsters by contributing towards their charitable appeals.

“The scouts, guides and brownies all worked very hard to earn the money they collected, and I wish them all the best of luck with their continued fundraising.”

Taylor Wimpey’s The Grange comprises a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments and starter homes through to three, four and five-bedroom houses.

Prices for the properties currently available start from just £204,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached house, £279,995 for a four-bedroom detached house, and £329,995 for a fabulously spacious five-bedroom property.

The Grange Sales Centre is located at Woodholms Farm in Lundy Walk, off Hempstead Lane, Hailsham, and is open seven days a week from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
