Renault rent’s success continues to grow Renault’s vehicle rental programme, Renault Rent, continues to go from strength to strength with two more Renault dealers set to offer the service and many dealers now increasing their rental offer to include Renault cars as well as LCVs to meet customer demand.

Renault dealer, Shelbourne Motors in Portadown, opened its Renault Rent operation on the 23rd October and Renault Leicester will open its service in January 2007, bringing the total number of sites to 11.

The success of Renault Rent has exceeded expectations with over 200 vehicles now available across the current 10 operating branches and an expected 50,000 rental days to be sold next year thanks to increasing awareness and demand for the service.

Renault Rent offers customers a choice of Renault cars and vans, all less than 12 months old, to suit any purpose whether it’s a small house move or a weekend break. Renault’s award-winning diesel van range, Kangoo, Trafic and Master are available, as well as a wide range of cars including Renault’s ever popular Mégane, Laguna and Scénic and Espace MPVs which are perfect for the whole family to travel in comfort and luxury.

Hire periods can be for as long or short as the customer requires, whether overnight or longer-term for corporate users. All rental vehicles are cleaned and fully inspected before each hire period, and are covered by Renault’s AA Roadside Assistance. Renault Rent is also a member of the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association.

Chris Gayton, Manager, Rental Development, Renault UK said; “Renault Rent already allows us to offer customers a competitively priced and convenient service with our spacious and economical LCV range, and now increasing popularity and demand from customers has led most of our sites to add cars to their programme boosting the choice on offer even further. In particular, Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet rentals have been very popular during this year’s hot summer weather!

“It’s not just the customer who sees the benefits, our dealer network does too. Experience has shown that a successful Renault Rent operation can make a significant financial contribution to the dealer’s business, along with other benefits in terms of brand awareness, the ability to offer an extra service to customers, additional used vehicle stock opportunities and increased dealer awareness in local markets”.

Sales this year will add in excess of £500,000 in revenues to the dealers that operate Renault Rent, and next year, with the expected addition of at least four more sites and continued business growth, revenues should hit around £1m.
