Everyone has gone World Cup and Wimbledon crazy so in celebration of the sporting mood of the whole nation, The Tipton has launched two new savings products, enabling Black Country savers to net more interest.

In what has been billed as a winning result, The Tipton’s two newest savings products, which boast extremely competitive rates of interest, are exclusively available to households whose postcodes begin with DY, WV, WS or B.

The Tipton’s new postal account, the ‘Premier 30’ is ideal if high investment returns are of utmost importance. Savers with £50,000 or more can benefit from a highly competitive 3.25 per cent gross rate of interest on their investment, while those with between £25,000 and £49,999 will earn 3.15 per cent gross and 3.05 per cent gross for savings between £10,000 and £24,999. The account requires a minimum investment of £10,000 and a 30 day notice period for all withdrawals. The rate of interest is variable and includes a 1.80 per cent introductory bonus which is payable for the first 12 months following inception of the account.

However, if branch access rather than postal correspondence is preferable but higher returns on investment remain a priority, then the new ‘Hallmark 30’ could be a sound choice.

This account also offers a competitively high rate of interest, is ideal for those savers who have a minimum of £10,000 to invest and who do not need immediate access to their funds. A branch managed notice account, savers with £50,000 or more can benefit from 3.00 per cent gross rate of interest on their savings and as with the ‘Premier 30’, all withdrawals from the ‘Hallmark 30’ will require a prior notice period of 30 days and interest can either be paid annually as a lump sum or as a monthly income.

The new accounts will be available to the building society’s existing customer base as well as new savers. Information is now available via the Tipton’s four branches across the region in Tipton, Coseley, Sedgley and Bilston or via the website: thetipton.co.uk

Chris Martin, the Tipton’s chief executive said: “We are committed in providing local people with access to a wider range of investment accounts which offer competitive rates of interest and these two new products do exactly that.”
