Barratt has announced that the popular HomeBuy Direct scheme is now available at its Rosewood development in Rose Green but it won’t be around for long.

As the Government-backed scheme is coming to an end because of the squeeze on public spending and buyers only have one more month to take advantage and ensure completions are by September, says Mark Docherty, sales director at Barratt.

“You really only have a month left to sign-up if you want to take advantage of this outstanding opportunity to get on the housing ladder with the help of public money,” he said.

“Thousands of people across the country have used HomeBuy Direct to buy a home and we’ve been inundated with local people who are interested.”

Both three and four bedroom houses are available through the scheme at Rose Wood, making a larger home very affordable.

The four bedroom Woodcote has an asking price of £264,000 but with HomeBuy Direct can be purchased for just £184,800. The three bedroom Kingsville is also available reducing its asking price from £272,000 to £190,400.

The scheme gives buyers the opportunity to move in for only 70 per cent of the price, with the remaining 30 per cent covered by a loan from Barratt and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency. Because a smaller mortgage is required, monthly repayments are much more affordable. A deposit of five per cent of the 70 per cent purchase price is required.

HomeBuy Direct is open to a wide range of people who don’t currently own their own home. But buyers must reserve their home by the end of July, 2010 and eligible households will have an income of no more than £60,000.

“Rosewood enjoys an excellent location close to the sea, and we expect these new family homes to sell quickly through the scheme,” continued Mark. “If you are interested in making a Woodcote or a Kingsville your new home, I would urge you to visit us as soon as possible.”

The development is located off Rose Green Road, near to Aldwick’s beach and shops. It also lies close to the Pagham Harbour Reserve, a 1,500-acre conservation area with a variety of flora and fauna.

The historic cathedral city of Chichester, with its world-famous harbor, is just six miles away and nearby Bognor Regis offers a great mix of bars, cafes, restaurants, theatres and cinemas.
