Jamie Stevens named Celebrity Hairdresser of the Year

British hairdresser Jamie Stevens has been named The Clothes Show Style Awards' Celebrity Hairdresser of the Year, sponsored by Your Hair, Hair Ideas and Blonde Hair and voted for by the general public.

Jamie received the award from hosts George Lamb and Brendan Courtney, and Your Hair Editor Michelle Tiernan, at the fantastic show on June 25, at which Paloma Faith and Rankin were also awarded gongs.

28-year-old Jamie’s clients include Gok Wan, Elle McPherson, Eva Herzigova, Hugh Grant, Kylie, Stella McCartney and more.

Jamie is Art Director at the Errol Douglas salon in Knightsbridge, and also runs his own recently opened salon in Woolavington, Somerset alongside filming on TV shows Gok’s Fashion Fix and How To Look Good Naked – he’s resident hairdresser on both shows.

Says Jamie, “I was thrilled to be named Celebrity Hairdresser of the Year, but all of my clients are celebrities to me! It’s great doing session work but I also love working in the salons – hairdressing is the best job in the world.”

The Errol Douglas salon is producing a succession of hugely talented stylists – 21-year-old Emily Hart is the current Young Hairdresser of the Year while Errol himself is one of the UK’s most established, leading talents. The team is up for 5 Most Wanted Awards this year, including Hair Trend (Jamie and Errol); Creative Talent and Hair Icon (Errol), and The Entrepreneur category in the It List, the brand new awards exclusively for hairdressers aged 30 and under (Jamie).
