Free World Series by Renault tickets available for Donington Park

In addition to quality racing, spectators are treated to demonstrations by the double World Champion ING Renault F1 Team. Test driver Jonathan Cochet will pilot the title-winning R26 in two ear-popping exhibition runs on Saturday and two on Sunday, giving fans the chance to see last year’s F1 title-winning car at close quarters.
Contributing to the success of the World Series by Renault format at Leicestershire’s Donington Park circuit is the mix of on-track action and off-track entertainment for the whole family. With the series only visiting the UK once per year, race fans are eager to witness some of the best drivers in the world demonstrating their skills on the 2.5-mile Grand Prix circuit.
Formula One Next Generation
Headlining the racing action is the World Series by Renault, featuring the 425hp Formula Renault 3.5 car. Reaching speeds of up to 180mph, the series is a showcase for some of the world’s best young racers, battling in equal equipment. All hope to follow in the footsteps of Robert Kubica, who moved to Formula One after winning the World Series by Renault title in 2005.
To make overtaking and races even more thrilling, Formula Renault 3.5 is now fitted with the ‘push-to-pass’ system ensuring a superb spectacle for the crowds. In addition, race two has a reverse grid for the first 10 finishers in race one.
Completing the World Series by Renault package are Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Eurocup Mégane Trophy. Both one-make categories guarantee close racing and plenty of action for the thousands in attendance. All three championships have one race on Saturday and one race on Sunday.
Supporting the International action are Renault’s leading one-make series from the UK . Donington Park hosts the penultimate race meeting for both the Formula Renault UK with Michelin Championship and ELF Renault Clio Cup, with potentially decisive twists in the title race. The weekend offers the UK ’s leading drivers an enviable chance to shine on the larger stage and catch the eye of teams in the higher categories.
100 Years Of Renault Engineering
Fans of historic racing are not forgotten either as Renault Histoire et Collection will exhibit a group of historic Renault Formula One cars on track. A collection of celebrated vehicles will also be on display on the infield, with cars spanning more than a century of Renault engineering.
Other off-track attractions include Formula One simulators, an F1 pit-stop challenge, a large free funfair, a family zone, Renault product and safety demonstrations and merchandise stands, including ING Renault F1 Team World Championship memorabilia. There will also be an aerobatic display by Tiger Airways in their Renault-powered Stampe bi-planes.
Commenting on the official launch of the Donington Park event, Renault UK ’s Motorsport Director, Tim Jackson, said: “Renault UK is delighted to invite motorsport fans and non-motorsport fans alike to this special event. Donington Park is a spectator-friendly venue and with all the attractions on offer there is always something to watch or take part in. Last year’s event was a huge success and we hope even more people will take the opportunity to see world class motorsport and Formula One demonstrations for free.”
