RSA introduces new yacht insurance policy

2nd July 2010 Print

Leading Marine insurer RSA announces the launch of a new specialist Yacht Alliance policy. Underwritten by RSA, the new policy is designed for yachts with a value between £205,000 (€250,000) and £12.5m (€15 million) for private pleasure, skippered charter, corporate entertainment and use by sailing schools.

Cover is provided for physical loss or damage to the vessel and her tenders, personal effects, third party liability to and of the insured, any permitted user and guests onboard, war and associated risks and personal accident and medical expenses for anyone onboard the vessel. Cover automatically includes pollution, accommodation and travel expenses.

There is a no claims bonus of up to 25% for vessels valued up to approx £820,000 (€1 million) and a loyalty bonus for vessels valued in excess of £2.5m (€3 million).

Richard Turner, Marine Director at RSA, said, "This new yacht policy follows the creation last year of a new dedicated Yacht team with 30 years of underwriting experience in the yacht market. This expertise coupled with a new extensive policy wording which can be tailored to suit individual requirements further demonstrates RSA's commitment to this industry."

The policy is also available in Italian and will soon be available in two further languages, French and Spanish, to suit the international market.
