Renault announces global sales results for October 2007
In October 2007, the Renault Group posted a 5.8% increase in sales (Car and LCV) compared with October 2006. All three brands contributed to the worldwide sales total of 219,411 vehicles, with increases of 4.6% for Renault, 19.1% for Dacia and 4.5% for Renault Samsung Motors. Sales for the year to October (Car and LCV) were virtually unchanged (-0.1%) compared to the same period in 2006.In Europe, Group sales totaled 143,058 units in October, down 1.6% with a market share of 9.5%. Almost 20,000 orders have been taken for New Laguna since its simultaneous launch in 15 European countries. Dacia posted a strong sales increase of 79.4%, confirming the success of the Logan saloon and Logan MCV.
Outside of Europe, Group sales remain on a growth path with an increase of 23.2%.
In the Americas, where markets expanded by 23.3%, Renault group sales remained buoyant in October (+36.4%), with significant increases in Brazil (+49.8%), Argentina (+51%) and Venezuela (+141.7%). Logan is enjoying considerable success in Brazil and Argentina, following its launch in July, with sales of more than 9,000 units.
In the Euromed region, Renault group sales (Car and LCV) increased by 17.2% over the month. Sales also continued to rise in Russia (+21.5%), Algeria (+5.3%) and Morocco (+41.3%). In Turkey, in a market where growth is picking up (+44.3%), the Group also posted a strong sales increase of 41.5%.
In Asia-Africa, Renault group sales increased by 20.7% over the month of October. In Korea, sales for Renault Samsung Motors expanded by 6.1% following the launch of the SM5 phase 2. In India, more than 15,000 Logan have been sold since its launch in mid-May.
