Star signs up to send Christmas card to Barnardo’s Actor Nathaniel Parker has launched Renault Retail Group’s campaign to send a Christmas message to vulnerable children and raise £10,000 for Barnardo’s.

The TV and film star, whose most recent big screen appearance was in Stardust, was the first to sign a giant Christmas card at the Renault London West dealership in Park Royal.

The huge card carries Barnardo’s pledge ‘we believe in children’ and the charity has teamed with Renault Retail Group to get as many people as possible to sign it.

Every person signing the card is asked to make a donation to Barnardo’s, and the 150 staff at Renault London West will be encouraged to take part as an alternative to sending each other traditional Christmas cards. Customers at the busy west London showroom – the largest Renault dealer in the UK – will also be invited to join in and support the campaign. Similar giant cards will be on display at 19 other Renault Retail Group branches across the UK.

Nathaniel, well known by TV viewers for his starring role in BBC’s The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, said: “I’m delighted to be signing up to send a Christmas card to Barnardo’s and the children it supports. I hope we can raise as much money as possible for Barnardo’s which does a fantastic job working for children and young people in our local communities.”

Ian Plummer, Managing Director of Renault Retail Group, which operates 23 dealerships across the UK, said: “Like Barnardo’s, we believe in children, so this Christmas we’re inviting people to visit our dealers to sign our card and make a donation to this worthwhile cause.

“As a group, we’re aiming for a grand total over £10,000. The funds raised will go to projects near the dealerships, which are all in large towns and cities where Barnardo’s does a great deal of positive work.”
