Looe based hotel and two AA rosette awarded restaurant, Barclay House is launching a Cornish gastronomic experience to promote the merit of the region, guaranteed to please even the most discerning of food-lovers.
Widely recognised in the region for its culinary excellence Barclay House is introducing the package in conjunction with sister restaurant, Trawlers on the Quay.
The break package includes two nights bed and breakfast accommodation at Barclay House with dinner in the onsite restaurant on one evening, a second evenings dining at nearby located award winning Trawlers on the Quay restaurant and a boat trip either along the West Looe river or out at sea and around the famous Looe Island, the finishing touch to the boat trip is a gourmet picnic freshly prepared by head chef Benjamin Palmer, showcasing the very best Cornish produce, fresh seafood and homemade delicacies complete with Champagne.
The two AA rosette awarded Barclay House prides itself on promoting the very best Cornwall has to offer by serving inspiring local dishes coupled with excellent customer service. The daily changing menus are all freshly prepared by head chef Benjamin Palmer using the finest local ingredients including fresh “day boat” fish from the trawlers of Looe, and Camel Valley wine - creating a range of local seasonally inspired dishes.
The whitewashed Victorian villa, Barclay House, boasts eleven bedrooms, eight luxury self-catering cottages, six acres of gardens, a heated outdoor swimming pool, sauna and gym and is a ten minute walk from the historic fishing town of Looe.
Resident proprietor Graham Brooks comments: “The South Eastern corner of Cornwall has so much to offer in terms of producers, ingredients and restaurants. That’s why it’s a real shame that it is often passed over in favour of locations such as St.Ives and Padstow, all of which can be easily reached for day trips from Looe. That is why we have designed this package to promote the things which are unique to South East Cornwall, I’m sure food connoisseurs and novices alike will be suitably impressed.”
Looe is easily reached by road, rail and air with flights from London, Glasgow Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Dublin and Cork directly to Plymouth, just 19 miles away. The hotel offers ample car parking free of charge to guests and a 5% discount to any guests arriving by train.
The package complete with two nights dinner, room and breakfast and your own personal boat trip with picnic is priced from £220 per person based on two people sharing a standard double/twin room – for added luxury, room upgrades are available from just £10 per person.
