Experience 2000 years of history in one blockbuster weekend at Europe’s biggest historical event, the English Heritage Festival of History. On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 July over 1000 re-enactors will march out of history and onto the field of battle at Kelmarsh Hall, Northamptonshire.

Witness the might of the Roman army, cheer on your knight in the joust, see Henry V’s troops in action at Agincourt, and watch WWII tanks and aeroplanes recreate a battle with spectacular Hollywood-style special effects. Explore the living history camps and meet Vikings, Romans, knights, jesters, and soldiers from two World wars.

Children will find dozens of fun activities to take part in, from dressing-up as a Roman Legionary to being put through their paces in the Knights’ Academy. English Heritage has even provided a traditional Victorian seaside where you can build a sandcastle, watch a traditional Punch and Judy show, or just relax in a deck chair.

On the Festival Stage you can catch performances of music past and present, from medieval minstrels, through folk and jazz and up to the swinging sixties with the Fab Beatles tribute band.

With over 50 different shows each day, Festival of History is a blockbuster experience for the whole family.
