21 Christmas Markets by rail

Great Rail Journeys has produced its first dedicated Christmas Markets brochure with 21 itineraries to choose from, including new UK breaks, trips for single travellers and river cruises to festive markets.

For example, the ‘Cologne Premium’ break is a luxurious four-day trip based at the Hotel im Wasserturm, Cologne’s most interesting five-star hotel, formerly a water storage tower! With six separate markets in the city, the gift-buying opportunities are legion, and the holiday includes a scenic cruise down the Rhine gorge to Rüdesheim, which has its own market.
