Raising the bar for construction in Anglia

Standards of workmanship and best practice are set to improve even further at Persimmon Homes Anglia, after the company recently launched its brand new construction manual.
Each comprehensive section was developed and written by construction director, Adrian Smith, from Persimmon’s Northampton-based office, and has been designed as a reference tool for site managers, trainees and quantity surveyors as well as for contractors working for Persimmon.
It details all aspects of the construction process and can be used in many aspects; from tendering for contracts and ground level works right through to completion of properties and developments, to ensure that the same high levels of consistency are achieved at all times and by all personnel involved in a specific project.
Shaun Marjoram, construction manager for Lowestoft-based Persimmon Homes Anglia comments: “Even though our standards of construction are currently at an extremely high level, we believe that there is always room for improvement and this is why we have developed the manual.
“We have never had a formal document like this before and firmly believe that by combining all aspects of our award winning site managers’ practices, its introduction means that we can raise the benchmark further and achieve even better standards of quality, both on our developments and the homes and communities we create, to benefit those choosing to buy with Persimmon.”
Shaun believes that the manual will prove invaluable, as both a daily reference guide and checklist to all of those involved in the construction process.
Across the Anglia region, six different developments are currently being built by Persimmon’s site staff who will all refer to the manual to build the portfolio of new homes.
