The weekend of celebrations for the GSX-R came to a close under sunny skies at the Brands Hatch British Superbike Festival this afternoon as Suzuki celebrated the iconic sportbike's 25th anniversary.

With Relentless Suzuki by TAS's Alastair Seeley taking his debut victory in British Superbikes on the Saturday, Suzuki's race teams were again showing the GSX-R is still a leader of the BSB pack. Meanwhile Spanish MotoGP sensation Alvaro Bautista and three-times BSB champ John Reynolds wowed the crowds with their demonstration laps on the impressive GSV-R800 MotoGP bikes, laps shared with the Alstare World SBK duo of Leon Haslam and Sylvain Guintoli on their GSX-R1000's.

Fans also got to see the Suzuki BSB historical display, including John Reynolds' championship winning Rizla Suzuki, Chris Walker's GSX-R750 and Tom Sykes' 2008 Rizla Suzuki, at the Suzuki BSB hospitality unit, where on Saturday those holding Suzuki ignition keys were invited in for some refreshments. As well, nearly 200 guests sat down for food and entertainments.

Tripple BSB Champ, John Reynolds: "This weekend has been a dream come true. I got to ride the MotoGP bike and frankly it's unbelievable – I've never ridden anything like it my life. It's a noisy violent animal, yet it's surprisingly tractable, you can safely take to the edge of its tyres but once you get it upright it goes from 8 to 18,000rpm in fractions of a second – it's just so quick!"

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP team manager, Paul Denning: "It's been a great weekend here, I've had a chance to catch up with all the BSB guys and I've had the pleasure of bringing the MotoGP bike along for the fans to enjoy.

"It's been great to share in the GSX-R celebrations as well. The GSX-R means so much to me, both as a dealer because it transformed our business and personally as the GSX-R has given me so many amazing biking memories, even today I still ride my own GSX-R1000 regularly – I've done three or four track days already this year and in June I took it for my first lap of the Isle of Man TT circuit."
