Style-conscious househunters looking for out-of-the-ordinary inspiration when searching for their new home should head down to Taylor Wimpey’s newly launched Ashbury show home at the Quakers Walk development in Devizes for the opportunity to pick up some top styling tips.

The beautiful new five bedroom Ashbury boasts interiors that have been especially created by an expert team of designers to compliment the entire property, but with a unique twist as two of the bedrooms are ‘out of this world’ with magical Narnia themed décor.

Wendy-Joy Adams, regional sales manager for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “Stepping into the Prince Caspian and Snow Queen themed children’s bedrooms is like stepping into the storybook and really adds something different to the Ashbury. It’s a perfect example of how you can let your imagination run wild when decorating your home.

“What’s great about buying a new home is that you start with a blank canvas and a property you can really make your mark on. This is why when creating our show homes we try to design striking looks that can be copied for a fraction of the price – meaning achieving a similar look in your own home is possible.”

The living room of the Ashbury is decorated in warm cream and highlighted with pale green and chocolate brown accessories with sumptuous soft furnishings, perfect for curling up in front of the fireplace.

The high gloss black kitchen accented with cooling creams complete with breakfast area is kitted out to suit every need of a modern lifestyle. The adjoining dining room is light and airy with full-length mirrors and enjoys French door access to the private garden making it the perfect place to entertain guests. In addition, the ground floor has useful understairs storage and a cloakroom, perfect for all kinds of storage needs, as well as a handy utility room.

The colour scheme is continued upstairs in the master en suite, which has striking lighting surrounding the bed and large fitted wardrobes with mirrored doors to enhance the already spacious room. A contemporary white bathroom with silver features which can also be found on the first floor along with two more double bedrooms. Two further bedrooms and another bathroom sweep across the second floor and completes the accommodation in the Ashbury which really does offer plenty of house for your money.

There are two additional showhomes at Quakers Walk, the three bedroom Kirkstone and four bedroom Fernlea, which follow the similar décor rules but with different colour schemes to inspire you further.

If you’d like to make the most of your home Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties has the following tips:

• Theme – try and decide on a theme as this will help bring a consistent approach to the whole of your home. Think about the atmosphere you want to create – are you looking for warm and homely or one that screams class and sophistication?

• Feature walls – add depth and dimension to individual rooms. If you want to go bold make sure you keep furniture and accessories neutral. Gather inspiration from expensive wallpaper you see in magazines and show homes then search for similar copies on the high street.

• Accessories – no home is complete without them. From lamps and statues through to ornate vases and embellished cushions, the clever use of accessories can really bring a home to life. Remember not to go over the top, the mantra ‘less is more’ can often be applied to accessorising a room.

• Don’t be afraid – to mix things up and try something out of your comfort zone. You don’t have to keep everything matching – different patterns, colours and textures can often look great together and help to avoid a ‘staged’ look.

• Listen to advice – speak to friends and families who have homes you admire about how they achieved the look they did. Read interior design articles in magazines and get ideas from show homes at new developments.
