Brands Hatch launches ‘Summer Drive-In’ movie experience

Brands Hatch is bringing the magic of the silver screen to its world-famous motorsport venue with the launch of a brand new ‘Summer Drive-In’ movie experience on 23/24 August.

The Kent circuit will be reviving the classic drive-in cinema concept this summer to show a trio of contemporary and timeless movies under the stars. Each of these three blockbuster films will be shown on a 92 square metre LED screen – the largest mobile screen in the world!

Brands Hatch’s Summer Drive-In begins on Monday 23 August with a family matinée screening of the Disney Pixar megahit ‘Up’ at 3.00pm, before classic film lovers can enjoy a special screening of the original 1969 version of ‘The Italian Job’ during the evening.

On Tuesday 24 August, action movie fans can taste high octane drama on the big screen with a showing of the Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie epic ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ at 8pm.

Moviegoers will be able to follow the soundtrack to each film through their car stereo, whilst Brands Hatch is offering earpiece radios to anybody arriving at the screening on foot.

Mike Groves, Brands Hatch circuit manager, said: “The Summer Drive-In is an exciting new project for Brands Hatch and we’re looking forward to bringing a new audience to the circuit. It’s a great way to spend an evening with your family and friends whilst the evenings are light, and our staff will be completing the drive-in service by travelling from car to car offering classic cinema snacks during each performance.”

Tickets for the Summer Drive-In at Brands Hatch are priced at £15 in advance per car for each film. Non-vehicle admission costs £10 in advance and each ‘on foot’ ticket includes a complimentary earpiece radio.
