Hodsock Priory, an unspoilt country estate located on the border of South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire, has recently completed an extensive renovation programme of its Old Dairy to provide stylish and comfortable holiday accommodation.

The historic priory will, for the first time, be offering overnight accommodation in its high quality self catering suites which are set within the grounds of the idyllic priory in Blyth, located in the heart of a region with a plethora of historic beauty. This beautiful part of the country captures rural tranquillity at its best and is dotted with picturesque villages boasting plenty to keep all the family entertained. It’s the perfect place for a well earned break at any time of the year.

The Hodsock Courtyard houses 10 self catering holiday suites which have been superbly designed to cater for all including families and those requiring disabled facilities. The interior design boasts an accent of vibrant red subtly sedated by calming neutral tones. Each property has an inviting living area, kitchen area, bathroom and bedroom with French doors leading to private courtyard gardens.

The wonderful self catering facilities are perfect for guests wishing to explore the estate and the region at their leisure. Without the constraints of a hotel, guests can enjoy a relaxing and leisurely break away from the fast pace of everyday life.

“Hodsock Priory is a first class exclusive wedding venue already but we wanted to make our beautiful estate more accessible for others,” commented George Buchanan, General Manager and ninth generation resident. “This new accommodation will provide visitors to both Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire with an unrivalled place to stay whilst enjoying the other amazing sites the areas have to offer.”

The 800 acre estate is also famous for its annual Snowdrop spectacle which takes place each February. Visitors flock from around the UK to see the dazzling display and enjoy refreshments in the beautiful priory. 2011 will see the first Snowdrop short breaks take place where visitors can enjoy a day exploring the estate and benefit from the beautiful new Courtyard accommodation.

“These are exciting times at Hodsock Priory,” commented George. “We are looking forward to welcoming guests from late summer and we are committed to taking Hodsock into another new and exhilarating era. We would love you to come and discover this unspoilt part of England.”

Hodsock Priory is also ideally placed to explore a wealth of nearby attractions including Doncaster Racecourse; the picturesque market town of Bawtry; the Welbeck Estate – the historic home of the Duke of Portland, the School of Artisan Food, the Harley Gallery and Cresswell Craggs.
