Persimmon reports on success in Colchester

While certain RICS members are currently reporting a fall in house prices due to supply outweighing demand, this isn’t the case in Colchester believes local homebuilder, Persimmon Homes Essex.

“At our Eton Place and Bloomsbury Mews developments at New Braiswick Park in Colchester, interest in our new homes offering has remained strong thought the alleged three month period of falling prices,” states Neil Sykes, sales director for Persimmon Homes Essex. He adds: “I believe that by offering a diverse range of sought-after housetypes and apartments, at competitively low prices with a range of buying aids available has ensured our purchasers have been able to comfortably achieve homeownership with us.”

At present, there are just three properties remaining on the third phase at Eton Place, including the popular three bedroom Ascot, Balmoral and Eversham designs, which are ideal properties for couples, young executives and families as they boasts spacious interiors and an affordable price tag.

Prices for the homes at Eton Place, start from as little as £234,950.

Neil adds: “To help make the buying process that much simpler and more affordable, we’re currently offering our much admired mortgage subsidy scheme on selected plots on phase two & three, whereby we will pay £300 towards our purchasers’ mortgage for two years.”

In addition, in Englefield House at Bloomsbury Mews, the two bedroom apartments come complete with an offer of the company’s 85 per cent shared equity scheme, designed to assist first time buyers and those struggling to achieve homeownership on the open market.

Neil concludes: “Due to the speed of sales we’re continuing to report at New Braiswick Park, we’re having to sell on two phases simultaneously, and it’s testament to the Colchester housing market that I don’t believe it long be long before our selection of three bedroom housetypes on phase three are all reserved.”

Bloomsbury Mews is situated perfectly for Colchester’s city centre. All properties at Bloomsbury Mews are bespoke designs by architects Melville Dunbar and alongside this, a centre is being created to possibly include shops, a crèche and surgery that will all form part of the community when complete. The development also benefits from being an easy walking distance to the local train station, meaning London is just a 50 minute commute.
