Singapore is gearing up to host the Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix for the third consecutive year and race full throttle through a dazzling array of intoxicating parties and fashion shows, art exhibitions, exciting celebrations and performances by global stars including Mariah Carey.

The Grand Prix Season Singapore 2010 takes place from 17th-26th September.

Headlining over 300 performers along with Mariah Carey will be Missy Elliot and last year’s American Idol star Adam Lambert, with large-scale theatre acts and top DJs adding further excitement to ensure an unforgettable weekend.

At the centre of all the excitement is the thrill of the Formula One race itself which will offer a day-and-night multi-sensory experience for visitors from around the world. Singapore has successfully hosted the first ever – and the only remaining – night race in the F1 season, and Asia’s only street circuit since the inaugural race in 2008. It is today recognised as one of the most exciting events on the sporting calendar and has been described by Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone as F1’s “jewel in the crown”.

New for this year is the spectacular steel and glass ‘Helix Bridge’ which recently opened to offer stunning new views and additional pedestrian access. The 280 metre-long bridge has five viewing platforms and links the track with the equally outstanding triple towers at the newly-launched Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort. During the event, the new bridge will be illuminated to provide a stunning night-time visual experience for race goers.
