First time buyers looking to settle in Wiltshire are now a step closer to owning a brand new home – thanks to Barratt.

The developer is celebrating the success of a special BBQ event, held at The Piazza in Chippenham, designed to give a boost to those keen to take their first step on to the property ladder.

“There are many people throughout our region who are desperate to own their own home – but feel unable to because of financial constraints,” said sales director, Andrea Pilgrim. “We understand this – and are pleased to have welcomed so many people keen to find out more.

“Experts were on hand to help take the mystery out of the buying process – and to answer the tricky questions about financing that first step. Buyers were able to find out more about the number of schemes we can offer first time buyers, including the soon to end HomeBuy Direct.”

The scheme gives buyers the opportunity to move in for just 70 per cent of the price – with the remaining 30 per cent covered by a loan from Barratt and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency together with the buyer’s deposit. This means a smaller mortgage – making the monthly repayments much more affordable.

“HomeBuy Direct is still available at The Piazza but this is really the last chance for buyers – with the government-backed deal ending very soon,” said Andrea Pilgrim. “That said, our experts were able to help those still keen to use HomeBuy Direct to help them realise the dream of owning their very first home.”

The event gave potential buyers the perfect opportunity to view the range of superb homes on offer at The Piazza – including the two bedroom Amber design.

From £139,995, the two bedroom Amber offers a spacious open plan living/dining area and a contemporary fitted kitchen. A downstairs cloakroom is also included. Upstairs are two bedrooms and there is an attractive family bathroom. It is the perfect home for first time buyers, whilst offering bags of extra space to grow in to.

“I’m thrilled that we have been able to help buyers secure their first home – especially when many may have felt unable to do so before this event,” said Andrea Pilgrim. “The team at The Piazza is very much looking forward to welcoming new residents to the development in the very near future.”

The Piazza is situated in the attractive market town of Chippenham and is close to all local amenities – including the outstanding Sheldon School. Commuters will find excellent transport links to nearby Bath and Bristol.
