Get social this summer with Palm

Palm has today unveiled how it will be helping Brits make the most of the final big weekend of the summer. Palm’s Get Social This Summer website and application have pulled together more than 100 of the best ideas for how people across the UK can have fun this August Bank Holiday.

The grim weather of the last week tells us that Summer won’t be here for too much longer. With this in mind, Palm wants to make sure that Brits don’t miss their final chance for some fun in the sun, and has come up with a host of great days out to suit everyone.

The ideas run from the intellectual (try the amazing Surreal House exhibition in the Barbican centre) to the dangerous (‘Gorilla Circus Flying Trapeze Classes’, anyone...?!), the imaginative (get lost as the Spellbinder weaves stories and songs telling the Tales of Aesop’s Fables) to the downright whacky (surely nothing can beat the World Gravy Wrestling Championship!).

Visitors to getsocial.palm.com have access to a daily calendar of activities and places to go across the UK, as well as the opportunity to upload their own suggestions along with reviews, pictures and videos to provide further inspiration for those looking for something different to do.

For Palm webOS phone users there is a free Get Social This Summer app which is available to download from the website, Palm’s UK Facebook page (facebook.com/PalmUK) and Palm’s App Catalog. The app will allow users to synch the summer and ideas and suggestions of their choice to their own calendar on the phone.

Palm recently launched its latest Palm webOS phones in the UK, Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus.
