Land Rover has announced the renewal of its title sponsorship of The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials for a further three year term – up to and including the 2013 event.  The British manufacturer of the world's most versatile SUVs has been the title sponsor of the event since 2005.

"We are proud today to confirm our continued association with The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials - a highlight of the British equestrian sporting calendar.  Over the last five years, we have worked with the event organisers to further enhance Burghley’s reputation as one of the world’s most prestigious equestrian events and will continue to do so moving forward," said Anthony Bradbury, marketing director, Land Rover UK.

"There is a natural affinity between Land Rover and equestrianism – competitors and spectators alike are at the heart of our customer base – requiring vehicles with the all round capability that our products are renowned for.  What better place to showcase them, than in the stunning surroundings of Burghley House."

"We are delighted to have Land Rover on board with us for another three years," said Elizabeth Inman, Director of The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. “Burghley and the sport have benefited enormously from this partnership and backing, which over the years has not only helped us to promote Burghley's reputation as one of the world’s leading four-star events but also helped to raise the profile of the sport and bring the excitement of eventing to a wider audience. It is very fitting that we have a top-class field of international entries again this year which will ensure four exhilarating days of high class competition."

Land Rover's association with Burghley began in the early '90s as 'official vehicle supplier' providing a small number of essential vehicles for officials, fence judges and medical teams. The involvement has progressed and Land Rover now supplies in excess of 60 vehicles to support the Event.
