Coleen in line for "at least £20k per week" says top divorce lawyer

A top UK divorce lawyer says Wayne Rooney is likely to face a very different divorce to Cheryl and Ashley Cole. The England and Manchester United star could find his fortune under threat as the Rooneys have lived together for a long period before the marriage and they have a child.
Coleen may demand a great deal more than the bunch of flowers her husband has allegedly presented her with as an apology, says top UK divorce lawyer Amanda McAlister of Russell Jones & Walker.
Amanda, who is national head of Family Law with Russell Jones & Walker, comments: “If they divorce, Coleen could be in line for at least £20k per week, based on his earnings of £90k per week from Manchester United. She and Wayne lived together for a long time before their marriage, which is when Wayne accrued most of his fortune. A judge may well take this into account when it comes to any settlement for Coleen, giving her a greater part of his fortune than he thinks.
“Also, they have a child together and Coleen could argue, with some justification, that his conduct will affect her future earnings as her public image is based on her being a happily married woman.”
