Sunparks to launch new Netherlands resort

14th September 2010 Print

Family holiday village specialist Sunparks is now taking bookings for its latest resort in the Netherlands, the company’s third holiday village in the country. Sunparks Sandur Drenthe launches in January 2011, with prices starting from as little as £12 per person, per night.

Nestled against the German border in eastern Netherlands, Sunparks Sandur Drenthe is the latest addition to a now nine-strong range of holiday villages across Europe. A stone’s throw from the border town of Emmen, Sandur Drenthe sits on the banks of a 130-hectare lake open to a wide range of water-sports including fishing, kayaking, pedal and motor boating.

Common to all Sunparks resorts, the village acts as a base to explore the surrounding regions. With the German border in such close proximity, guests can ride across the wide expanses of moor and meadowlands, unique to this area of the Netherlands, criss-crossing back and forth across the border.

Sunparks is now taking bookings for arrivals from January 2011 in a range of villas, sleeping from four to ten people. Prices start from €399 (£333) per week for a four person select villa, or €229 (£190) for a four night midweek break.

Breaks of three, four and seven nights are available, with 20 per cent discounts on offer for young families with children under 12 year of age, and those aged 55 and over. Early booking discounts are also available.

The Sunparks brand has a European heritage of over 20 years and recently became part of the European accommodation specialist Pierre & Vacances Group. Sunparks is well known throughout the continent for operating all-weather, year-round holiday villages that offer a wide range of outdoor activities and indoor facilities for the whole family. Alongside two other villages in the Netherlands, Sunparks also have four locations in Belgium and two in Germany.
