TD sponsored record holder Mick Begley rides again

The Irish Drag Racing Record Holder, Mick Begley, won acclaim in the national newspapers at the end of the 2009 season in his 1400HP engined ‘Gaijin’ when he achieved 173mph time of 8.06 secs 202.8 standing mile. Following this success, and wanting a new challenge, he sold the Gaijin and he enlisted the TR Racing R32 GTR to compete at several events this year.
Three times Mick tried to compete, the last attempt ending up in the Skyline catching fire on the trailer on the way to the event! But stalwart Mick, backed by the ever energised Justin at TR Racing, would not give in nor become downhearted. He just happened (as you do) to have a shell of a disused Skyline lying around. Immediately he enlisted TR’s Justin to go to work. Within two weeks those marvels at TR Racing had transferred everything - suspension arms, wiring loom, engine… into this golden Skyline shell and Mick was on his way to Ten Of The Best with a totally unmapped car – just for fun! Mick claims it was “Absolutely mental”.
The freshly mapped RB30 OS Geikin 3litre Skyline will make her debut at the Japshow Finale on 3rd October at TD sponsored Santa POD Raceway. The turbo, supplied by turbocharger experts Turbo Dynamics, is an HKS T62R Anniversary modified by TD and featuring a special TD modified GT45 compressor wheel and a unique TD designed modification to the turbine wheel to help reduce back pressure whilst not harming the response.
