New lease of life for buyers at Earls Meadow

Young-at-heart newly-weds are delighted with their new home at Taylor Wimpey’s Earls Meadow development of houses for sale in Wem, Shropshire.
Newly-weds Paul and Anne Ellis have been taken aback by the effect their brand new Taylor Wimpey property in Wem has had on them.
The young-at-heart couple, both 62, have enjoyed a whirlwind 2010 which has seen them tie the knot and move into a brand new four-bedroom ‘Kingsville’ house at Taylor Wimpey’s sought-after Earls Meadow development of new homes in Wem, Shropshire.
“We absolutely love the house, it makes us feel like recycled teenagers!” says Paul, a retired Revenues Manager for North Shropshire District Council whose search for property for sale in Wem came to an end with the discovery of Earls Meadow.
“When I woke up after our first night in the house, I thought ‘where am I?’, it felt like I was in a first-class hotel!
“To have our first home together was exciting enough, but the fact it’s brand new and so spacious makes it doubly special.
“We have the room we need when family comes to stay, as there are four children and six grandchildren to accommodate!”
Earls Meadow’s location has also impressed Paul and Anne, a retired Customer Support Assistant for Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council.
“I’ve lived and worked in the area for many years, but Anne is relatively new to Wem, having previously lived the other side of Shrewsbury in Bayston Hill,” says Paul.
“She’s been really impressed. Earls Meadow is in a pleasant position on the edge of town, but within walking distance of the shops. The railway station is also within walking distance, and it’s quite unusual for such a small town to have one. It’s on the Cardiff to Manchester line, putting many destinations within easy reach, including Crewe and Shrewsbury.
“Wem itself may be a small town, but it has more of a village atmosphere, where people are really friendly.
“This extends to our neighbours at Earls Meadow; everyone is friendly and it feels a really happy place to live.”
House-hunters looking for a well-appointed home on a development bordering scenic open countryside need to hurry, as there is only one house left for sale at Earls Meadow – the delightful three-bedroom ‘Barwell’, priced at only £144,995.
Homes at Earls Meadow enjoy a high standard specification including gas central heating, double glazing and fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and cooker hood.
Wem is a thriving market town, with a rich variety of speciality shops, a popular delicatessen, an active town hall and respected local schools for children of all ages.
Close at hand are the larger towns of Shrewsbury and Telford, which provide ample opportunities for shopping, leisure and eating out, while the bustling metropolitan centre of Birmingham and the outstanding natural beauty of Snowdonia national park are both within easy reach.
