Families looking to step onto the property ladder without compromising on style and quality need look no further than the three-bedroom homes in Redrow’s New Heritage Collection near Swansea.

A new release of three-bedroom ‘Warwick’ homes at Awel-y-Mor, in Birchgrove, is satisfying demand among parents who want their first family home to display plenty of character and be reminiscent of the homes they grew up in themselves.

The New Heritage Collection is a premium housing range, with a traditional external appearance, influenced by the Art and Crafts era – a time when quality and individuality was paramount.

Rachael Davies, area sales manager, for Redrow Homes (South Wales), said: “These homes would suit couples moving out of the typical starter home bracket and into the more traditional family market, perhaps to accommodate a young or growing family or with the intention of starting a family. They may have two incomes or will perhaps be relying on help from the ‘bank of mum and dad’.”

New research from YouGov, commissioned by the National Housing Federation, found that 59% of middle-class parents believe they will have to dip into savings or retirement funds to help their children buy a new home.

“The average first time buyer profile is getting older; now in their mid 30s they don’t necessarily want a typical young person’s city pad. They may well be married, with young children or a child on the way, and probably want a home more suited to family life. However, with mortgage providers still asking for substantial deposits from first time buyers they may still need assistance from their parents to buy their first home,” Rachael added.

“But with their enduring designs and high specification interiors, we believe our New Heritage Collection Homes are a great investment for buyers and their parents who may want to help their adult children get onto the property ladder – and create a future for their grandchildren too.”

The Warwick features a beautiful lounge with a bay window to the front of the house and an open plan kitchen and dining room, with French doors leading out to the back garden. Family friendly features include a downstairs cloakroom, and storage cupboard for a washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs there are two good-sized double bedrooms, one with en suite, a single bedroom and a family bathroom.

Homes from The New Heritage Collection at Awel-y-Mor are currently priced from £159,995 for a three-bedroom ‘Warwick’ to £259,995 for a six-bedroom detached home.

Within easy reach of Swansea Marina and the stunning Mumbles and Gower coastline, families who love the outdoor life can find their perfect home at Awel-y-Mor. There are good school’s locally and all of Swansea’s shops, bars and restaurants just a few miles away.

For further information visit Awel-y-Mor and its two show homes daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
