HomeBuy Direct opportunities in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire

If you thought you’d missed out on HomeBuy Direct, then think again as a second tranche of this valuable help onto the property ladder is available on selected Redrow homes.

Patsy Aicken, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), explained: “Would-be homeowners may think they’ve left it too late to take advantage of HomeBuy Direct, but that’s not the case. Six of our developments in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire were awarded additional Government funding under ‘Kickstart 2’, which means there’s still time to buy the home of your dreams at a realistic price.”

The Government-backed HomeBuy Direct scheme is available on 150 homes across the region including Sherburn in Elmet and Malton, in North Yorkshire, Doncaster, in South Yorkshire, Halifax, in West Yorkshire, and Grimsby and Barton upon Humber, in North Lincolnshire.

With the offer of an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price, jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes and Communities Agency, certain groups of purchasers can initially save almost a third off the price of a brand new home. The loan is interest-free for the first five years and can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or they come to resell.

For example, a two-bedroom home at Wheatley Chase in Halifax, on the market at £122,999 could be snapped up for less than £87,000 using HomeBuy Direct.?
“HomeBuy Direct isn’t just for first time buyers, it’s also available to those starting over after a relationship break-up and families who can prove they need extra space,” Patsy commented.

“It could be the difference between resigning yourself to a lifetime of spending ‘dead’ money on rent or stepping onto the property ladder with a home of your own.

“Customers who take advantage of HomeBuy Direct should only need a relatively small deposit and to apply for a mortgage with a maximum loan-to-value of 70%. This will generally give them access to much improved mortgage interest rates.

“Whether you’re starting out or starting over, our experienced sales team and our HomeBuy agent will guide you through the application process and make everything as simple and straight-forward as possible.”

To take advantage of HomeBuy Direct your annual household income must be less than £60,000.

It’s available at Saxon Court in Sherburn in Elmet, near Selby; Priorpot Mews in Malton; Wheatley Chase in Halifax; Danum St Giles in Doncaster; Kirk’s Paddock in Grimsby; and Fox’s Fold in Barton-upon-Humber.
