After many months of careful planning, sympathetic architectural and interior design, a beautiful renovation of the old dairy at Hodsock Priory has declared itself open for business!

‘The Courtyard at Hodsock’, an exclusive development of 10 self catering holiday accommodation suites and conference facilities, lies within the grounds of the picturesque Hodsock Priory on the border of South Yorkshire/North Nottinghamshire. Its proximity to the A1 and major towns within the region means the venue is easily accessible and, with plentiful on-site parking, it represents an excellent venue for delegates from a variety of market sectors.

A prestigious grand opening event was attended by over 200 influential local business people, friends and family, and those who brought the Buchanan’s dream to life. All enjoyed tours of the Priory, gardens and The Courtyard to appreciate Hodsock in all its autumnal splendour.

“The development of our old dairy into stunning accommodation and a high quality meeting room compliments the existing portfolio of rooms within the Priory that are perfect for conferences, training days, events, corporate away days and weddings allowing us to cater for 2 to 200 delegates or guests,” commented George Buchanan, General Manager and ninth generation resident of Hodsock Priory. “We were thrilled with the positive feedback that we received from our guests and are very excited about the future at Hodsock Priory.”

The project has been supported through the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE), which is jointly funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the European Union, and is delivered by East Midlands Development Agency (emda).

“This is a fine example of twenty first century diversification to enable businesses to grow and prosper,” said Andrew Morgan, Skills and Communities Director at emda. “We are tremendously impressed with the calibre of the completed project and wish George and his team every success for the future.”

Building at ‘The Courtyard at Hodsock’ commenced early in 2010, with local suppliers being used wherever possible. A ground heat source system and solar panels demonstrate the Hodsock Estate’s commitment to its corporate and social responsibility as it strives to become more eco-friendly.

Hodsock Priory is renowned for its spectacular snowdrop display each February and also, as a premier and exclusive wedding and event venue.
