Ipswich dad finds space he needs at Bramford Gardens

A father-of-two found an affordable solution to his space problem when he opted for a three-storey townhouse at Redrow’s Bramford Gardens development in Ipswich.
Looking after his two daughters three days a week while living in a two-bedroom apartment was proving a challenge for Duncan Chapman, a web marketing manager, and he decided the time was right to look for a larger home.
“I had been renting my apartment and was initially looking to rent a larger house so my daughters, who are nine and four, could each have a room of their own when they came to stay,” he said.
“However, while I was looking for a new rental property, I came across Bramford Gardens and realised, with the incentives offered by Redrow, I could actually afford to buy a home of my own.”
Without a large deposit, Duncan, 33, was able to defer part of the cost of his four-bedroom townhouse through Redrow’s ‘easi:buy’ scheme. The scheme currently allows customers to defer 15% of the cost of their new home for up to 10 years on selected plots. It means they still own 100% of their new home but only pay 85% of the cost up front and may not need as large a cash deposit.
Duncan added: “I can’t rate Redrow’s customer service highly enough. I was juggling a full time job and looking after my daughters so it was great to have someone who could help me through the process of buying a new home. I even opted to go with Redrow’s recommended mortgage provider, as I didn’t have time to go through all the mortgage products myself, and I was very happy with the deal. The whole process - from deciding to look for a new home to moving in - took only a few weeks.”
A three-storey townhouse like Duncan’s is a great option for families in search of more space because they offer additional rooms on the extra floor and are generally cheaper than detached properties of the same square footage, which use more land.
