Leading vehicle auctions specialist, British Car Auctions (BCA) has sold everything from film star cars to 60 tonne cranes over the years, but this life-sized ‘train set’ is among the more unusual vehicles the company has handled.

Bespoke built on diesel running gear, the Italian-built Dotto ‘trackless train’ and UK-made ‘Leisure Roadtrain’ will be sold at the company’s Glasgow Auction Centre on 14th October.  Each comes with two carriages holding around 15 people each.

“Fully working and in great condition, these roadtrains may appeal to attractions such as theme parks, country estates or stately homes, or maybe even garden centres and other large retail operators wanting to appeal to families” said Tim Naylor, PR Manager.  “For the right size garden, they could even be the perfect gift for a budding train driver!”

“Being sold alongside a range of light and heavy commercial vehicles – including a mobile school classroom – this will certainly be an interesting sale!” concluded Tim Naylor.

The two engine and carriage sets will go under the hammer at the BCA Glasgow Sale, which starts at 10am on Thursday 14th October.
