Abarth Cars UK is returning once again to its motorsport roots with the announcement that it will be one of the title sponsors of the 2010 Rallycross Superprix.

The event, which takes place at Knockhill Racing Circuit, Scotland on Sunday 24 October, will now be known as the 2010 Fuchs Lubricants, Arnold Clark Abarth Rallycross Superprix.

Abarth will support the meeting with a display of its latest high performance hatchbacks, including the stunning new Abarth 500C convertible. The racing arm of Fiat Group Automobiles UK will also provide a powerful Abarth Punto Evo to act as course car, through its dealer for the region, Arnold Clark.

“Abarth and Arnold Clark are delighted to be involved in this event as it allows us to once again get back to racing, which is at the heart of everything we do,” says Ivan Gibson, head of Abarth UK. “The Superprix is the traditional end to the rallycross season and we are excited to be a part of what will be a fantastic day’s sport.

“It’s the first time that the event has been held at Knockhill, but the home of Scottish motorsport will provide a perfect setting for the leading competitors and we will be watching the action with interest as the day unfolds.”

Launched in the UK in July 2008, the award-winning Abarth brand has continued to find new fans in the form of enthusiast drivers wishing to express themselves through their choice of car.

The range starts at £14,155 (OTR) for the 500 1.4 T-Jet while the Punto Evo 1.4 MultiAir costs just £16,500 (OTR).
