New houses in Crawley give families room to roam

Wentworth Place, Taylor Wimpey’s stunning development in Crawley is now home to the Forzanis, who are loving the lifestyle change it brought for their family.
Home life has never been better for the Forzani family – and that’s down to the sheer spaciousness of their brand new home in Maidenbower, Crawley, at Taylor Wimpey’s Wentworth Place development.
Mum and dad Simone and Simon have noticed a real change in their children Nia (7) and Christian-Luca (5) since they swapped their three-bedroom property for a spacious townhouse at the leading developer’s sought-after West Sussex development of houses and flats in Crawley.
“When the children are at home the television is hardly ever on now, because they have so much more room to play,” says Simon (41). “In our old three-bedroom semi, Christian-Luca had a tiny boxroom. Now, they both have huge bedrooms, which they both love and play in all the time.
“Plus, with three floors to run around and a good-sized garden at Wentworth Place, they have so much more freedom, it’s just a wonderful family home.”
Since moving to a Maidenbower property eight years ago from the London Borough of Sutton, the Forzanis have become massive fans of the area, which lies on the south eastern edge of Crawley and has something for all would-be buyers looking for property for sale in West Sussex.
“London is a fantastic place to live, but when you have children you want different things, and Maidenbower has it all, including superb schools,” explains Simon. “The quality of life is so much better, and when I first moved here it was really noticeable how friendly everybody was.
“In fact, it freaked me out at first because I was so used to people in London going about their business without saying more than a couple of words to you! Here, everyone talks to everyone, and that’s the sort of place where we want to bring up Nia and Christian-Luca.
“The location is also excellent as this area has its own junction on the M23, and you are only 30 minutes from places like Eastbourne and Brighton, while London is half an hour in the other direction.”
Those superb transport links are vital for Simon, who is a business delivery director for the London Learning Consortium in Victoria, just a 30-minute commute by rail from Maidenbower.
But it’s their new house in Crawley that has really completed the perfect life for the Forzanis, who almost missed out on it altogether.
Simon explains: “We only lived two streets away on a different estate, but wanted somewhere bigger, and Simone definitely wanted a townhouse in Maidenbower.
“As Wentworth Place is the final new homes development in Maidenbower we knew this would be our last chance to find somewhere completely new on our doorstep.
“We had our eye on one particular plot and when it was released for sale, the Sales Executive, Clare, phoned us to let us know. But, somebody got in there just before us, reserving it 30 minutes before we arrived at the Sales Centre.
“Luckily for us, the buyer had to pull out and we got our dream house at Wentworth Place after all – and there seemed to be a queue of people behind us who also wanted it, so we were so grateful to Clare!”
But the drama didn’t stop there, as a week before they were due to move, the buyers of the Forzanis’ old house in Maidenbower threatened to pull out. “Clare took control of the situation, dealt with the estate agent and pushed the sale through for us,” says Simon.
“She was absolutely brilliant all the way through, and proves Taylor Wimpey staff bend over backwards to make sure everything goes smoothly.
“I cannot recommend Taylor Wimpey enough, their Maidenbower houses for sale are brilliant places to live in and the customer service has been outstanding. The whole process has been a real pleasure, and that’s down to the way people like Clare and the Site Manager, Steve, go about their jobs.”
Those seeking brand new homes in Maidenbower can currently choose from a selection of two-bedroom apartments at Wentworth Place from only £169,995, and a spacious six-bedroom detached house priced at only £489,995.
Comprising a highly desirable collection of just over 100 homes, Wentworth Place enjoys an excellent position in Maidenbower, which retains much of its village appeal and has a pub and a big park with tennis courts at its heart.
The self-contained community also boasts everything for daily life within walking distance, including shops, a gym, healthcare and schools from nursery through to secondary.
Nearby Tilgate golf club and nature centre provide plenty of activities, while the Worth Way, the route of the old railway line, offers an excellent cycle route.
