Taylor Wimpey’s Andy Blower earns a prestigious NHBC Seal of Excellence honour for his good work at the housebuilder’s popular Kingsland Grange development of property for sale in Streetly.

Taylor Wimpey site manager Andy Blower has earned a coveted prize in a prestigious UK building industry competition for his excellent work at a sought-after development of new homes in Streetly, Birmingham.

Andy, who is site manager at the leading housebuilder’s Kingsland Grange development of apartments and houses for sale in Streetly, has been presented with a Seal of Excellence at the 2010 National House-Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job awards.

The Seal of Excellence is one of the top honours handed out by the NHBC each year, and was awarded to Andy in recognition of outstanding commitment to producing high-quality new houses and flats in Streetly and to maintaining exceptional standards in every aspect of his work.

This latest triumph for the 39-year-old dad from Cannock follows previous successes with in-house and NHBC awards.

“It’s a fantastic feeling to have won a Seal of Excellence award as there’s a lot of tough competition out there. For the judges to feel our product is worthy of winning means a lot to me,” says Andy.

“I strongly believe it’s a team effort and I would like to thank all of my team on site, and also my line manager Keith Crawford for his support and encouragement.

“I started in the building trade at 16 as a bricklayer and I’ve been a manager for 12 years now. I enjoy the job very much – the day-to-day challenges that come your way and the sense of satisfaction you get when you meet or exceed the customers’ expectations.”

Of all the sites Andy has worked on over the past two decades, he says Kingsland Grange is probably his favourite.

This exceptional collection of homes, in the desirable location of Streetly, have been built to the latest eco-standards as well as Taylor Wimpey’s high quality specification.

Andy says: “I feel like I’ve got a fantastic team around me at Kingsland Grange and have really enjoyed building these great quality homes.”

Seal of Excellence winners really are the cream of the crop when it comes to delivering outstanding new homes and maintaining the safest and most efficient building sites.

The 130 recipients are whittled down from 400 Quality Award winners who are, in turn, selected from more than 18,000 NHBC-registered housebuilders running sites up and down the UK.

Each site manager undergoes a stringent selection process with independent judges visiting developments at key stages of the construction process to assess them on all aspects of house building.

Kingsland Grange is a stunning collection of new homes for all types of buyer, including contemporary two-bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses.

The homes currently on sale include the stylish two-bedroom ‘Lynton’ apartment, priced from just £139,995, while those seeking the space for a growing family will appreciate the four-bedroom ‘Tolworth’ detached home, from as little as £309,995. For the ultimate in executive living, the magnificent five-bedroom ‘Ashbury’ is on sale for only £440,000.

Kingsland Grange enjoys an excellent location in Streetly, home to a wide range of shops for everyday needs, a library, community sports facilities, pubs and places to eat, four primary schools and a specialist sports college.

Sutton Park nature reserve – 2,400 acres of woodland, heath and wetland – is close by and provides ample opportunity for walking, cycling, angling, sailing and orienteering.

For commuters, Birmingham and Walsall are both within easy reach by car and by public transport.

To find out more about the new homes available at Kingsland Grange, visit the Sales and Marketing Suite, located off Bridle Lane, Streetly, and open Thursday to Monday from 11am to 5pm.
