Vauxhall Combos carry the load for GVS Assist
The Vauxhall Combo is the top choice for specialist maintenance supplier GVS Assist after it completed the purchase of 20 new Vauxhall Combo vans. All 20 vehicles are powered by Vauxhall’s frugal 75hp 1.3-litre CDTi engine and come with an array of added specification.
The compact Vauxhall Combos come with air-conditioning for driver comfort and Ultra Sonic alarms for additional security. GVS Assist has also specified a near-side sliding door providing engineers with easy access to the load area, while inside the cabin a full height mesh bulkhead keeps payloads safe and secure. The vans have uprated suspension to carry a payload of 732kg and come equipped fully ply-lined to protect the interior of the vehicle.
Charlie Price, Marketing Executive at GVS Assist said, “We chose the Vauxhall Combo because of its proven reliability and quality, and for its environmental credentials - an area that GVS Assist is increasingly focussing on. The vehicle has low CO2 emissions and the van’s capacity and practicality best-suited our operations. Our engineers need to carry heavy toolboxes and replacement parts to site so we need both payload and volume and the Combos deliver both”.
GVS Assist specialises in the maintenance and supply of food and beverage vending machines, refrigerated display coolers and commercial coffee machines. It provides complete vending support to all its customers thanks to a comprehensive nationwide network of their very own fully trained and highly experienced engineers that are available 24 hours a day, seven day a week.
Mr Price added, “GVS Assist recently conducted a rebranding exercise in April. This was done because we have expanded our service offering and expertise to include service and maintenance of specialist espresso machines and refrigerated cooler machines.
“The new vehicles also provide a much clearer canvas to promote our new brand when the engineers are out on call repairing customers’ vending machines and coolers. It is still early days, but so far our experience with the vehicles has been a positive one and we will be looking to renew our fleet with more Vauxhall Combos in future.
“All the sign-writing was completed by Sussex Signs, and the van order was arranged through our local Vauxhall dealer Frosts of Shoreham. The dealership was very efficient in keeping us informed on how the order was progressing.”
Emitting just 134g/km of CO2 with a load volume of up to 3.2m3 the Vauxhall Combo boasts the ideal combination between low emissions and high workload productivity. Its green credentials, generous load space and carrying capacity are complemented by low running costs and fuel consumption (up to 56.5mpg unladen) making it one of the most popular compact light commercial vehicles around.
The new Vauxhall Combos join the company’s existing 120-vehicle fleet and are expected to cover between 30,000-40,000 miles per annum.
